Prayer Requests

What better function for a blog than a place to post prayer request? I wish i'd have thought of it before. If you need prayers or know someone who does just mention it on the post and we'll begin praying for them. As your prayers are answered, include that as well. I'm excited about seeing God work through this board.

The Play is The Thing

Have you ever in your wildest dreams imagined Stephen Sanford in 50's garb singing a song calle bbbbbbbbbaby. Or how bout Skyler getting catty with society gals in the local soda joint "hippity Hop" and then singing in a group with two other girls. If you have, then your dreams came true this weekend. They both performed in their school play at Heritage and did an awesome job. Joanna west was also one of the singer gals that jumped and provided back up. Give them all a big hug and let them know they are great

The Railroad Festival

I don't know if you had a chance to go to the railroad festival or not. If you did, then maybe you got to see a few of us manning the TORCH booth there. We made fresh squeezed lemonade, corn dogs, popcorn, Boiled corn on the cob, and sold them all to raise money for our upcoming mission trip to Honduras. Even Jaden made a few glasses of lemonade for the good people of Amory. We were right beside all the bands and really enjoyed hearing them perform.

Question of the day

What is your favorite youth group memory?

Hammer Time

Several of you shared your spring break trips with each other and I hope you all had a great time! A few of us went to Tupelo over Spring break and built a storage facility at the Lee Acres Church of Christ. The morning started off really cold and I was reconsidering my shorts and t-shirt decision. There is nothing like 50 degree weather and 15 mph winds to motivate a half naked person to do some work. After a couple of hours everything got warmer and I began to feel a little smarter. We really enjoyed working with the Lee Acres youth group and made some great friendships. From nail guns to sawzalls to little dinky man hammers we used them all to build this monstrosity and raised over $2000 dollars towards TORCH Benevolence at the same time. Ask Matthew Chaffin and Tyler White what they did during their spring break and they'll be sure to share some stories with you. Maybe they'll tell you about lunch at Abners or the ladder they built themselves to take a picture of everyone on the roof. Maybe they might tell you about Kirt "monkeyboy Hunt" running around the frame of the building without the slightest fear of falling to his death. Just ask.
