CYG Fantasy Football "Season 1"

Fourteen long and brutal weeks ago five of my CYG comrades, along with myself, embarked in a long-lived tradition in hopes of soon making it a tradition we could call our own. Yes, i am talking about fantasy football. With Paul at the helm as commish, we were off into our first season of fantasy football, CYG style.

Before we could dive headlong into the competition, we first had to pick the teams. Finally, it was time for the season to begin for our teams: "Ice Cubes"/Tyler "Icy" White, "Uberhawke"/Paul B., "MC Hammers"/Matthew C., "Trojans"/ Matthew F., "Rebels"/ Nate Dog Allen, and "Rockstars"/Brent "BP" Pyle.

Although after week 2 we found ourselves with two new members/teams, "Mohawks"/Cale F., and "Colts" led by Cody Allsup, which bumped our number up to eight teams.

After the first 4 weeks of play there had already been enough contraversy to last us the whole season, from the trades, to the "all stars" that turned out to be nothing more than "busts", and even our own little scandal a.k.a "Matthewgate". After a few more up and down weeks of play we already found ourselves at the mid-way mark of our season with the MC Hammers clutching to a slim lead in the standings, but of course knowin' the luck of the Chaffin, somethin' was bound to happen.

And sure enough, as we reach the final stretch of the regular season, with the playoff race being thrown into full throttle, the MC Hammers held a 2 game lead with just four weeks left to play. But no, oh no, he couldn't just coast on in and claim the first seed in the playoffs, looming in the background was the pack nipping at his heels. He loses his next game, then his next, and you might be thinking to yourself, "Self, i'm sure after two straight loses he straightened out..". But no, the Hammers soon found themselves losing their third in a row, bumping them forever out of first place and into third. Then came what could only be called the most unexpected #1 vs. #2 game of the season, between the two teams many of us counted out at one point or another in the season. Matt Ferg's Trojans, against BP's Rockstars. Ferg found his way on top of the matchup and into the first seed for the playoffs. And that is where we find ourselves, in the playoffs, with the seedings going as follows: 1st-Trojans, 2nd- MC Hammers, 3rd- Rockstars, 4th- Uberhawke, 5th-Ice Cubes, and 6th- Colts. While the Rebels and Mohawks found there way into the 7th place consolation game.
